Cool-Safe at Careers Expo

On May 9-10, Cool-Safe attended Careers Expo 2024 at Wolfbrook Arena in Christchurch with the help of industry professionals to promote HVACR as a trade.

Over our two days at the expo, we met dozens of curious young people searching for what they might do after finishing high school. We know that a career in HVACR is a brilliant move for anyone looking for a stable, skilled, and rewarding career, and Careers Expo was a great opportunity to showcase this.

With industry professionals from EcoChill, Cool Logic, Beattie Air, and Active Refrigeration there to share insights into what a career in HVACR looks like, what skills a young apprentice can learn, and the opportunities the skillset brings, we met and spoke with a wide range of school leavers about the potential of a career in this sector.

We were also very pleased to have had five apprentices across the two days on hand to share what it's really like to be part of the industry and speak to the journey through apprenticeship that any new recruits will experience.

The Refspecs-provided vacuum pump was a star attraction, inflating and compressing marshmallows in an engaging demonstration of vacuum technology and showcasing a piece of kit used by refrigeration professionals everywhere.

Kelvin the dipping bird also provided a quality lesson in thermodynamics- thanks, Kelvin.

If you'd like to come along and support the next two careers events, Hamilton June 9-10 and Auckland, June 20-21st, contact Alex ( and we can get you a timeslot.

A huge thanks to everyone who came out to share their experiences with the HVACR professionals of tomorrow, and we look forward to our upcoming events.
