Cool-Safe Annual Survey 2023 - your feedback

Thank you to all of you who shared your feedback with us in our recent (and inaugural) Cool-Safe Annual Survey. Your feedback is helping us to understand what's working well, what's not and what we need to do differently. 

We received responses from a wide cross-section of industry, Government and other stakeholders. Highlights from your feedback include:

Of the 57% of respondents who handled or managed refrigerants directly, 79% had an approved fillers qualification, 29% had NZQA Level 4 and 23% were trained by their company:

• It's great to hear so many of you have an approved fillers or other qualification - we'll keep on promoting all the current training opportunities available across our communication channels.

The most used Cool-Safe service was our refrigerant recovery collection service (46%), followed by 41% who said they joined us at one of our roadshows and 38% who read our fortnightly e-updates. 

• We're working on making refrigerant collection and recovery as rewarding, easy and accessible as possible - thanks for those of you who have already done your bit, met current regulatory requirements and used this service.  

Of our services, you rated our roadshows as our top service (4.6 our of 5), followed by advocacy via consultations (4.3 out of 5) and then our fortnightly e-update (4.1 out of 5). 

• We loved seeing so many of you at our roadshows, hearing and advocating what matters to you through our consultation responses, and it's great to hear you appreciate the news and updates through our fortnightly e-update - we'll keep all of these services going! 

The services you would like us to provide in the future were supporting training development (71%), support with the transition to regulations (52%) and networking opportunities (40%). 

• We're already making sure training is a focus for the proceeds we're reinvesting back into our industry, and we will have the recommendations from the independent training review we commissioned in the next few months. Those recommendations will help decide where $500k of training support is allocated per annum. And we're also still committed to helping to support industry to transition to regulations once they're implemented, as well as holding another round of main centre roadshows later this year - watch this space!
