Govt greenlights regulations
Regulations on the way for our sector
Update 11 Augst 2024: Applications are now closed.
The Trust for the Destruction of Synthetic Refrigerants (The Trust) is seeking to appoint two new Trustees to help guide our organisation.
The Trustees
Trustees are appointed to widely represent all HVAC & Refrigeration industry sectors in New Zealand and they must also be able to demonstrate from their experience a range of commercial skills. It is important to the Trust that each Trustee has the ability to act independently and professionally as Trustee in the governance of the Trust to achieve the Trust’s goals.
The Trustees are led by an Independent Chair from outside the industry to offer non-partisan experience and insight.
What does a Trustee do?
Contribute your expertise and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions
Apply your commercial skills & your governance experience
Support the continued growth of the MfE’s accredited Refrigerant Product Stewardship Scheme – Cool-Safe.
Enable the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC&R) industry transition to operating within mandatory regulations in 2024.
The skills and experience we are seeking:
With two Trustees completing their service to the Trust, there are currently two vacant positions that require a mix of skillsets.
Sector experience with strong industry knowledge, ideally in refrigeration, is essential. This will be coupled with well-developed commercial skills gained from senior leadership roles that have involved a mix of strategic planning and operational delivery.
Other key skills important to the Trust at this time are:
Financial Leadership to support the Trust with managing its investment, fiscal policies, reporting and compliance.
Technological Knowledge including an understanding of information technology, user experience, data collection and global trends.
Advocacy and government policy experience to support the Trust to navigate the machinery of central government.
