Join our Cool-Safe MfE refrigerants consultation webinars

The Ministry for the Environment is asking for feedback on their proposals to reduce the environmental impact of fluorinated gases (also known as F-gases or synthetic refrigerants). Their consultation closes on Sunday 18 December 2022.

Those proposals include:

·        creating a regulated product stewardship scheme for refrigerants

·        prohibiting the import and sale of pre-charged equipment when alternatives are available, which is expected to happen over the next 10 years

Cool-Safe consultation webinars

Our webinars will: 

• Include an overview from MfE policy makers Asti Laloli (on the product stewardship scheme), and Mitchell Clark (on the proposed refrigerant phase out scheme)

• Led by Matt Gough from Hanga-Aro-Rau Workplace Development Council, we'll walk you through the Qualifications Framework that will provide consistent standards across our industry

•  Understand more about the industry led refrigerant product stewardship scheme design project from Adele Rose, CEO of the 3R Group

• Hear an overview and analysis of the consultation key points from Cool-Safe Chief Executive Janine Brinsdon, as well as understand where you can go for more information and resources to help inform your feedback

• Provide the timelines for when these proposals might start to impact your business 

• Give you the opportunity to ask questions and share your feedback to the decision makers and influencers - our Trust will collate any feedback given at the webinar into one industry submission
